Pitt Football Thoughts
The loss to Notre Dame still stings. They way they lost makes it worse. A terrible pass interference call, a missed field goal, a penalty that should have been called on ND for two players with the #2 on the field, and the lack of offense in the fourth quarter and overtime.
Tino Sunseri is a decent quarterback, as long as the game is not on the line. In any kind of pressure situation the kid folds and as he does so does the Pitt offense.
The game at UConn will be very telling to where this team is. It is a game that they should win but Pitt has often struggled in the past with these games. They have a real chance to win their remaining three games and finish 7-5. A minor miracle after the 0-2 disastrous start.
K'Waun Williams and Lafayette Pitts are the best corner duo in the Big East and one of the best in the country. They will both be back next year.
The Panthers have serious depth issues at linebacker and the defensive line. Next year should be much better as players will be back from injury. Hopefully Aaron Donald comes back for his senior year.
I was surprised at how well the Pitt offensive line played against the ND front seven.
Ray Graham has been outstanding the last two weeks. Great to see from him after the injury. Should help him get drafted in the NFL. He could be a great third down/ change of pace runner with his jump cutting ability.
