Steelers Inside the Numbers

Heath Miller ranks 5th among NFL TE's in receptions with 35 and 2nd in TD's with 6.

That Steeler Defense, you know the one that is old and washed up, is ranked 2nd in total yards per game only allowing 274.1 ypg. the New Orleans Saints have given up an staggering 474.7 ypg.

The Steelers only have 12 sacks and 3 interceptions on the season. This ranks them near the bottom of the league in both categories. J.J. Watt of the Houston Texans has 9.5 sacks on his own.

Jonathan Dwyer is averaging 5.2 yards per carry. That is 5th best in the NFL.

The Steelers plan to keep Ben Roethlesberger from getting hit so often has worked. Through 7 games Big Ben has been sacked 14 times and hit 25 times. Last year he was sacked 42 times and hit 77 times.

Mike Wallace averaged 21.0 yards per catch last year, that number is down to 12.8 ypc this year as the Steelers have not taken as many shots down the field. Wallace is on pace to have a career year in total receptions.
