Pitt Thoughts

Pitt released the 2013 football ACC schedule and they home slate for the Panthers is incredible. Pitt will host Miami, North Carolina, Virginia, and Florida State. They will also host Notre Dame next season. That is a significant upgrade from the normal Big East schedule. Pitt will play road games at Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Syracuse, and      Duke.

Tyler Boyd's commitment to Pitt helped to ease the blow that Robert Foster left when he choose Alabama over the Panthers. I don't believe the the Robert Foster saga is over as there is still a chance he ends up at Pitt. I have heard that he will attend the Pitt basketball game against Marquette.

The defensive coordinator position remains open and there has been very little talk from the Pitt camp. Kerry Cooks, co-defensive coordinator at Notre Dame, was thought to be the man for the job but nothing has been done. Another candidate to keep an eye on is Jim Tomsula who is the defensive line coach for the 49ers. That would explain the delay in the hiring. Tomsula is a Pittsburgh native but I don't see any connection to Paul Chryst.
